After speaking with another adoptive mom in the play room at the White Swan, she suggested a trip to this park saying it was better than any zoo she had been to, even better than San Diego Zoo. So, we asked our guide to arrange a driver for us and along with two other families we took an excursion to this park. First of all, the first part was made up of a safari in which we got to ride a tram kind of train around wild animals all over the place including several species of deer, rhinos, hippos, zebras, lions, tigers, white tigers, elephants, and bears. The second part of the park was where you got to walk around and view all the animals much like a zoo at home.
Some of the coolest things were that we got to pay 10RMB for a small bag of meat and throw it to some white tigers. That was really cool! Ella and I got to hold a baby tiger and take a picture with it. Ella thought that was REALLY cool. The picture is posted above. We also got to see baby tigers, baby white tigers, and baby snow tigers in an animal nursery center. Ella thought that was pretty cool too. Ella also got to throw bananas
BUT, the COOLEST thing of all was that we got to see at least 10 PANDAS! There were no babies but they were sooooo cool. Since it has been a life dream of mine to see that many pandas in one place, it was a real treat for me. Some were sleeping but most were just relaxing on a log or eating bamboo. What a treat indeed!
FYI: I can't post any photos because of the Great China Fire Wall as Randy calls it.....
